About Us

Sue Lockhart Lockhart Training is an independent training center for The American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI), Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) and also offers classes from the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross.

Sue Lockhart has been teaching CPR and other wellness classes in San Diego since 1991. A mother of three, she worked part-time for the American Red Cross for 13 years as a Contract Instructor, mostly teaching CPR/AED and First Aid to local businesses. In 2004 she co-founded OptiWell, Inc., to provide San Diego with the Optimum in Wellness Training.

Beginning in February 2010, Sue and husband Clint formed the partnership of Lockhart Training.

In 2002, both Clint and Sue received the American Red Cross Lifesaving Award of Merit and the City of San Diego Fire and Life Safety Services "Lifesaving Citation" in recognition for saving a life by direct action. These awards were presented after CPR was used on nephew Cody, a near drowning victim (see CPR Saves Lives!).

Sue is an avid fan of the cinema. She has been an official volunteer at the Sundance Film Festival for the past six years as well as various other film festivals. She also enjoys reading, the arts and traveling.

Clint has been an x-ray tech in San Diego since 1979. He enjoys volleyball and surf fishing. He has been a DJ at SDSU's college radio station KCR since 2001, hosting his show "A Day at the Beach" (using the air name of Clint Beachwood). The show specializes in instrumental surf music.
